The indie trio from Richmond, VA, brings together three songwriters who share a penchant for the melodic. Started by Mark Brown, Tyler Crowley and Matt Klimas in 2007, the band is built on the interplay between their unique musical styles and influences. Blending elements of alt-country, power-pop and indie rock, they craft hook-laden songs built on tight layers of guitar and lush harmonies. Louisiana Territory has spent the past year performing at such Richmond music hotspots as Capital Ale House Music Hall, Canal Club, Alley Katz, and the Camel, developing an energetic stage presence. The release of their self-titled debut EP in 2008 serves as an important benchmark in their developing sound, bearing traces of Ryan Adams, Nada Surf and early Cure.
